A Sophisticated Wedding in the City of Brotherly Love
When Tessa and Joe decided to tie the knot in the City of Brotherly Love, they found themselves in a tough situation. You see, this amazing couple lives across the country in LA, and they needed to plan a wedding from almost 3,000 miles away! When Tessa contacted DFW, we knew we felt the perfect connection to bring her on as one of our wedding clients for 2017.
When Tessa initially called, she was looking for someone who could help with coordination as well as provide full design services for her special day. With that, we jumped right in and worked to make something incredible for her and Joe. She wanted to show her guests the rich culture of Philadelphia, because many of them were out of town visitors. Through some FaceTime chats and even a mockup of their centerpieces (which they flew in to see!), all of the pieces were finally coming together for June 23, 2017.
Their wedding weekend began with a rehearsal dinner at the Philly-Famous Reading Terminal Market. We transformed the space by combining white bud vases, mercury lanterns, mirrored boxes and mercury votives throughout the room. The highlight of the rehearsal dinner was a boxwood backdrop, which we installed Philadelphia “LOVE” letters filled with florals onto. This display was a hit, and gave her out-of-town guests their first look into Philadelphia culture.
After a fun-filled Friday night rehearsal, it was time for the big day! The bridal party got ready in the Warwick hotel, right across Rittenhouse Square to their venue, Stotesbury Mansion. After a day of pampering and final touches, it was time to move to the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the ballroom at Stotesbury Mansion. We draped our birch chuppah with white organza and plenty of lush greens with pops of color from the florals. Following the ceremony, guests were guided into the foyer for cocktail hour.
The cocktail hour had many small details to tie the look together. Tessa and Joe's engagement photos were displayed in black and white all over the space, as well as mixed metal mercury candles. Their escort sign was a vintage map of Philadelphia, which tied in the rich history of the city with their decor.
Moving towards the reception space, our team accomplished a one hour flip transforming the ceremony space into an entirely new look for reception. We started by moving the chuppah to the head table displayed above the bride and groom. Each table had a beautiful arrangement of greens, sprayed greens, hydrangea, and roses . The centerpiece was accompanied by gold tapered candles and our gold charger plates. The ballroom features a beautiful fireplace, so we decided to dress it up with some greens, florals and pillar candles. One of our favorite parts of the reception decor is the custom gold fan wall we built. It created the perfect backdrop for the DJ, and made an amazing statement!
The night ended with a magical sparkler send off into Rittenhouse Square. Tessa and Joe were an amazing couple to work with, and we wish them a beautiful life together!
