Moulin Sherman Mills
Honoring Helena Devereux
Devereux is a leading nonprofit behavioral health organization that supports many of the most underserved and vulnerable members of our communities. Founded in 1912 by Helena Devereux, they operate a comprehensive national network of clinical, therapeutic, educational and employment programs and services that positively impact the lives of tens of thousands of individuals and families every year. They also focus on research-based prevention initiatives that help children and adolescents develop resilience and strong emotional and social health. They help empower children and adults with intellectual, emotional, developmental, and behavioral challenges to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives.
The organization called on us to execute a Secret Garden theme at Moulin Sherman Mills which was an industrial-chic restored textile mill with oversized windows, lofty ceilings and open floor plan. The guests entered thru custom iron gates to set the tone of the Garden theme. They were greeted by the organization and lead right into a large fun themed bar which most guests thought it was a permanent. There was a photo op area with a floral wall as a background.
When guests entered the Reception we brought in hanging elements of planks filled with lush greenery and hanging candle lit glass globes. With a mix of Farm tables and Rounds we filled in the large scale loft nicely. We wove smilax greenery through the pendants over the dance floor and finished the look with leaf pattern lighting. With the mix of textures, florals and elegance the client was blown away with the execution of the planning boards vision. The DFW Team thought through each detail and nothing was overlooked.
